19 Ideas for Blog Topics?
Or are there? The most common objective we hear from clients about blogging is that they don’t have enough to say. But that’s not the case at all. And, regardless, Google is telling us that sites with frequent blogging activity will hear higher search engine rankings than those that don’t.
For us, that’s all we need to hear. Whatever Google tells us to do, we’d better do it!
So, what to blog about? Best practice is 4 blog posts a week, about 400-600 words, and we admit that’s a heavy task for most companies, particularly when you only have one blogger. But the topics are easier to come by than you’d think. Here’s some suggestions:
- What did you see that was interesting at a trade show?
- What did you see that was interesting at a trade show?
- What is keeping your customers up at night?
- What questions are customers asking when they call in to customer support?
- What qualifying questions do your salespeople ask when talking to a prospect? Each question is a potential blog post.
- What news story did you see in an industry publication, or even the general media, that affects your customers?
- What do you see people talking about on LinkedIn groups that relate to your market?
See how easy? Remember to refer to your buyer personas for what THEY want to learn about, not just what YOU want to say. Blogging isn’t about ‘me-oriented’ messaging, it’s about your customers.
